AWI Extension TAS is a passionate team dedicated to delivering real impact, driving positive change in the Tasmanian sheep and wool industry.

WHAT WE DO:

AWI Extension TAS is a passionate team dedicated to delivering real impact, driving positive change in the Tasmanian sheep and wool industry through AWI's vital investment in extension and communication.

With our e-newsletter going to around 600 subscribers, we've achieved nearly 4,000 attendances at face-to-face events since the project's inception.

Some key highlights from the current project:

- exceptionally positive feedback on workshops and field days, with average ratings of 9.0/10 for satisfaction, 8.8/10 for value to business, and 9.3/10 for likelihood to recommend

- more than 8 out of 10 woolgrowers reported making a change to their enterprise as a direct result of knowledge and/or skills gained, with impacts including: improved productivity; enhanced animal health; increased profitability; greater confidence in decision making; and better integration of sheep into their overall farming system

- engagement of those under 35 continues to increase, and now nearly doubles the proportion in the broader Australian sheep and wool industry

- e-newsletter open rates continue to more than double the agricultural industry average

- website monthly views and unique users have more than doubled in the past 12 months, with a comprehensive range of more than 80 guides, fact sheets, checklists, and other resources now available online.
