Planning ahead during dry seasonal conditions is critical for maintaining livestock health and making informed feeding decisions.

Through a mix of theory and practical on-farm sessions, you will learn how to:

  • assess body condition score in sheep and cattle
  • assess your pastures for volume and quality
  • interpret feed tests
  • calculate seasonal feed budgets and supplementary feeding needs
  • prioritise feed for different classes of stock during dry times.

Your presenters will  be:

  • Dr Sarah Davey, Longford & Northern Midlands Veterinary Services
  • Sophie Folder, Pear Consulting
  • Catriona Nicholls, AWI Extension TAS
  • Alex Russell, TAS Farm Innovation Hub

These workshops are hosted by TasFarmers in collaboration with AWI Extension TAS, Pear Consulting, Longford and Northern Midlands Veterinary Services and TAS Farm Innovation Hub. They have been made possible with funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund through the TAS Farm Innovation Hub.
